Gov. Manuel Mamba shared P400,000 while Mayor Leonel Guzman set aside P100,000 as the remains of Biraquit, who was shot dead with his wife in Sitio Malasat, Piat on Jan. 23, 2023, were laid to rest on Friday, February 3.

Mamba praised Biraquit’s achievements, calling him a great leader and a local hero who brought honor not only to Barangay Sto. Domingo but also to the region when he bagged the Gawad Saka National Award and a gold medal in the Cagayan Dangal search.

The governor urged villagers to uphold the principles left behind by the murdered barangay head, and not to let the evil of whoever was behind his killing prevail and succeed.

“He was an example. He was a hero. This is my idol. Let his principles be kept alive. Yes, his body may be gone, but let his principles be the victor here. We will continue his stand,” Mamba said.
