BARMM builds modern village halls
THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has disbursed P31.5 million for the construction of nine modern village hall buildings in Cotabato City, officials announced Thursday.
“Each of the nine villages has an allocation of P3.5 million from the BARMM’s Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG),” Naguib Sinarimbo, BARMM’s interior minister, said.
Recipients of the project are the villages of Rosary Heights Mother, Rosary Heights 1, Bagua 2, Kalanganan Mother, Kalanganan 1, Kalanganan 2, Poblacion 2, Poblacion 3 and Poblacion 7.
Sinarimbo said the project is a component of the Office of the Chief Minister’s Support to Local Moral Governance initiative that provides funding for infrastructure projects, such as village halls.
The MILG’s project management development division is implementing the project.
Cotabato City Mayor Mohammad Ali Matabalao lauded the BARMM government for the barangay (villages) infrastructure projects.
“The barangay are at the forefront of local government, and this is extremely important; they interact with our constituents and participate in the delivery of fundamental services,” he said.
