Chalmers beefs up Valientes
MANILA, Philippines — NBA veteran Mario Chalmers is trying to make the most out of his opportunity playing for the Zamboanga Valientes in the Asean Basketball League (ABL).
With two NBA titles under his belt, the 36-year-old Chalmers said it’s a breath of fresh air to be part of the team and serve as mentor to the younger set.
“It’s about keeping my love for the game and sharing my knowledge with other players,” Chalmers, joined by Valientes team owner Junie Navarro, told the media.
Chalmers, who won NBA titles with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013, provided immediate impact for Zamboanga in his debut last week in Kuala Lumpur.
