Rainy Valentine’s Day due to Amihan, trough of LPA —PAGASA

A rainy Valentine’s Day may prevail over the country due to the northeast monsoon (Amihan) and the trough of the low pressure area (LPA), state weather bureau PAGASA reported Monday.

Based on its 24-hour public forecast, PAGASA said the trough of the LPA is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Visayas and Mindanao.

It also warned the public against possible flash floods or landslides brought about by light to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon are forecast to have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with light rains due to Amihan. No significant impact is expected.

PAGASA said forecast winds in extreme Northern Luzon and the eastern section of the country will be moderate to strong and will be accompanied by moderate to rough coastal waters. The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters.

The sun will set at 6 p.m. It will rise over Metro Manila on Tuesday at 6:21 a.m. —Sundy Locus/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
